How to Join
We are a local chapter of the North American Rock Garden Society. Membership in the Rocky Mountain Chapter is available at five different levels:
- Individual
- Household
- Supporting
- Patron
- Life Member

Dues for local chapter membership are paid yearly and renewable January 1. We do not accept credit card payments for membership.
Dues and Saximontana Rise in Price
As of July 1, 2010, all dues categories have been increased by $5 AND choosing to receive the paper Saximontana will cost $5 extra per year. This does not cover the approximately $20/year that the paper Saximontana actually costs, so we ask you to please carefully consider the PDF version. Please do not use old coupons, as this will only delay your renewal. Dues are still due in January.
Please do include your email address, even if you are opting for the paper Saximontana, as we do send out notices of meetings and changes.—Ed
In addition to membership to the local chapter, we also encourage membership to the national umbrella organization, North American Rock Garden Society. Benefits are outlined on the NARGS website. You can add this option on the membership form and we will forward your dues to the national chapter if you also join the local chapter.Benefits of Membership to RMC-NARGS
- Chapter meetings feature slide lectures of local, national, and international experts, including plant hunters who explore mountains and steppes worldwide to collect seeds from plants with horticultural promise. There is also time for socializing.
- Events include field trips to study rock alpine plants in their native habitat, visits to members’ gardens, workshops (e.g., make troughs, build a member’s rock garden) and plant sales each Spring and Fall.
- The newsletter Saximontana features plant and gardening articles and information about coming events in 10 issues per year.
- Membership entitles you to volunteer at meetings, plant sales, and other events. This is the best way to get to know other members and increase your knowledge about rock gardening and plants.
